"Rise Again my son. Ascend through this arena, where you are your own worst enemies."

These dark reflections mean to destroy your crystal heart. If it shatters, back below you go. But beware, these shades are linked to you, and inflicting damage to them is a pain you share together. Survive long enough with your crystals, and endure.

With this year's theme of 'Joined Together', we wanted to explore the idea of tethering the player and enemies together in an unexpected way through the means of a shared health bar. This gives the game a unique risk/reward mechanic in that any damage you inflict on them is dealt to you too! Rather than defeating enemies, the aim is to protect the crystals in the arena by utilising your shield and stun abilities to delay the shades long enough to win. However, your score and cooldowns are tied to killing enemies, so use them wisely.

"Prove yourself to those above, and you too can ascend..."

This game has amazing visuals for a game jam game and has amazing controls and gameplay loop. I was amazed by what you were able to put together but I was confused at first at why there were two health bars at the bottom. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the game but I wish it was downloadable instead of only browser playable.

Outside of being a bit laggy and hard to aim cuz´ of the lack of a cursor (on browser at least), it´s a really cool game! And that´s even less of a problem since killing enemies is an actual strategic decision, as you don´t have infinite health
